What basketball collectors come in for
- Rookie cards: basketball rookies can move fast because one player can change a team, and a whole card market with it.
- Autographs and patches: rookie patch autos are the top chase in most basketball products.
- Numbered parallels: serial-numbered color versions. Low numbers and one-of-ones are the rarest.
- Graded slabs: rookies and legends graded by PSA, BGS or SGC.

Why graded matters in basketball
Modern basketball cards are printed on glossy stock that chips and scratches easily. A clean PSA 10 can sell for several times a raw copy of the same card. If you're buying a big card, buying it graded takes the guesswork out of condition.
